Westchester Market Report 2010

The median price for a single family home in Westchester was $630,000 in 2010, up by 8%. The number of transactions also rose by 16% over 2009. Westchester had seen somewhat of a recovery last year, given the three year consecutive price drop, and six year consecutive drop in volume for single family homes. These numbers are important because single family homes often serve as a benchmark for the market in general. These homes stayed an average of 175 days on market, down 4% from last year. Properties also sold for 94.4% of the list price on average, also up from last year.
Each local market is different so you will want to consult your local realtor for your market. However, Westchester is currently active and realtors are looking forward to another busy year. These numbers do not reflect condominium, cooperative or investment properties.
